I hosted a shower for my Fabulous Daughter In Law to be...Jenny!! My sister Rhonda cooked the most amazing food for us to eat....I did the decorations, and the desserts! We ended up with 28 people to celebrate with us!! Jenny's Mother came all the way from Vermont. It was a beautiful day with friends and family. I feel so blessed that this wonderful girl is going to marry my Son!! Dustin proposed to Jenny on a whale watching tour on Cape Cod...so I made the little whale cake topper for the top of the fabulous ruffle cake!!

My Birthday

My birthday is New Years Eve. Normally we go to our house in Beaver creek to celebrate, but this year my soon to be ex took his family up, and I stayed home (what a joy it was to have the house to myself), my besties Kim and Shanon decided to throw me a party. I picked my Son Dustin and his fiance Jenny up from the airport at noon, and we went to Maggianos for a fabulous lunch. They shocked me by telling me that my Christmas and Birthday present was going to be a plane ticket to Vermont in March to attend Jenny's Bridal Shower. I had planned on going before the divorce, but now financially I knew I couldn't. My son said it was very important to Jenny that I be there to celebrate with her family. I feel guilty, because it is just too much money for them to spend on me, but I also feel blessed that they want to do this for me. I am in awe of the man that my son has become. Of coarse I cried like a baby when they told me. After lunch my friend Kim came over and decorated my house, and the fun began. My friends and family all came over bearing amazing food and drinks. We rang in the New Year together, and I cannot help but think that this truly is going to be a great year for me. My youngest son Brad got home from his trip a little after midnight, so all of my family was together when we started 2012!

Dustin made the most amazing Cotton Candy Martinis...mmmm

Jenny ordered me cupcakes...chocolate, and of coarse my favorite, white wedding cake. It was a wonderful Birthday. I don't know if any of you are familiar with Molly Shannon's character Sally O'Mally from SNL...but I kicked and stretched and kicked all night long, just like Sally would have. Wow, what a fun night it was.

Love these angels....marked Japan!

These sweet paper parasols are all marked Japan! I got 4 baby planters...one is a cute musical helicopter, they are all marked Napco Japan. There are approx 80 package tie ons that all say Japan. 2 Gurley candles, one Santa and one Snowman...both are unused. Dennison cutouts, glitter, lots of glitter, and so many other goodies, I can't even name them all. This put a smile on my face. Thank you Shanon for buying all of this fabulous "junk" for me!!

I just wanted to pop in and say Hi to everyone. I am sorry that I have been an absentee blogger. I am going through a very painful divorce, and honestly haven't had much to celebrate. My oldest son Dustin and his fiance invited me to help decorate their first Christmas tree!! I jumped at the invitation. My youngest son Brad and I were so excited to help. WE all decorated the tree, and then watched Home Alone. I thank God everyday for blessing me with such amazing children. I hope that you all have a wonderful Holiday season.

My sister is married!!

My sister got married yesterday. We had a fabulous time, with lots of friends and family. It was a small gathering in my parents backyard. The weather was perfect, and the happy couple looked amazing.
Cindy wore a beautiful Champagne colored halter dress, and Roman looked dashing in his suit!
It was so fun to be part of this fabulous celebration. My middle sister Rhonda is on the left..Cindy is in the middle, and I am on the right. We are all just a year apart from each other.

A Beautiful Engagement

My son Dustin proposed to his beautiful girlfriend Jenny!! They were in Vermont visiting her family.....they went to Cape Cod for a whale watch...and he asked her on the boat. I was so proud of him...he asked for her fathers blessing first!! She had no idea that he had bought a ring, and was just waiting for the right moment. She said YES!!! So...I am going to have a daughter in law. I couldn't be happier. They make a wonderful couple, and love each other very much.

I just had to put up a banner to celebrate when they got home. Ignore the weeds in my flower garden. I can't dig in the dirt until my finger heals. Well, I just had to share this exciting news.

Faux Wedding Cake

I'm sorry I have been an absentee blogger. Life has been crazy, and so has my computer. I haven't been able to load photos, so hopefully it will work this time. 2 nights ago I was crafting away, when I tried to cut a wire with scissors, well the scissors slipped, and I cut off the top of my knuckle. I ended up in the emergency room, they couldn't stitch it, because the area of missing skin was too big, so they put sergi seal on it, put gauze over that, and put a splint on my finger. I have to keep the splint on for 2 weeks. I didn't realize how much I use my pointer finger. grrr.... I am trying to get a few projects finished up for The Paris Street Market this Saturday. My friend has a booth, and wanted me to put some pretties in the booth. She is doing lots of vintage baby and wedding goodies, so I was in my element. I made this cake a couple of years ago, but had never decorated it.

I participated in a fabulous Easter swap with my two good friends Kristin and Michele. Kristin has the fabulous blog Signs and Salvage...check out her blog, you won't be disappointed.

Can you believe all of these fabulous goodies?? I am still in awe over it all.

Kristin is selling these amazing little nests made from shredded vintage books. I am ordering a few for my Easter table.

This sweet sign is super sweet. I'm telling you, you need to order from her!!

I don't think Kristin knows this, but peeps are my all time favorite Easter candy. This will stay up year round in my craft room!

I love this sweet recipe box. I am going to use it in my craft room for phone numbers!!

This gorgeous hook will also stay up year round. The chippy pink is just amazing!!

Happy Birthday Brad

It is my Baby's 25th Birthday today. I cannot believe how quickly time has gone....

Brad was not excited to be born....he just wasn't real impressed with the real world.

Dustin was very excited to meet his baby Brother. He wanted me to get up and take them both on a walk. haha

I am really proud of the men that my sons have become. They make me so proud to be their Mama. They are pictured here with their cousin Logan.

Pink Saturday Pickin'

I feel like I hit the best estate sale ever!! It was a Pickin sale. My friend Shanon is an expert picker, and she took me along. It was a small house, but the owner was a horder, so she also purchased the duplex next to it to store all of her goodies. As you can see...I got a little of everything.

This cake topper was stored along with a piece of the wedding cake. I threw out the cake, because it smelled just horrible. I think the topper is in pretty good shape for being from 1948.

I found a box of sweet baby items...the shower invitations were filled out for 1952. I loved all the sweet birthday cards.

This box was filled to the brim with easter goodies....lots of old easter egg dye kits.

Sweet cake decorating supplies...too sweet to pass up!

Beautiful vintage hats....LOVED them all. Shanon and I shared the hats, we took turns picking our favorites.

I can't forget the box filled to the brim with Vintage Valentines. One box is brand new.

Last but certainly not least, more beautiful PINK hats!!!
This sale was quite interesting. You had to literally climb over piles of fabric (mostly polyester) to get to any areas of the house. Shanon is tiny, so she climbed into closets, and dug for treasures. We spent 4 hours digging through things, and it wasn't enough time. We are heading back tomorrow morning.

I could hardly believe it when I found out that I was the lucky winner.(Hand blown glass lamps from Murano Italy, made exclusively for Swank Lighting. Sugared Egg - Pink Saturday

I am still busy working like crazy on Easter Goodies. This is my version of the sugared Diorama Egg. I put a sweet little Easter scene in Each large egg. It sits atop a nest of crepe paper, and is attached to a glittered spool pedestal.

This sweet little lamb is a bit shy. He doesn't like to have his photo taken.

I glittered the whole egg, and added a sweet spring ribbon to the top!!

Pink Bunny Love

Look what I found hiding at the Antique Mall today!! This sweet little guy was hiding in a booth way in the back. He seemed a bit scared, but came out when I got closer. I knew with this sweet dirty little face that he had to come home with me!

His sweet tattered pink bow, and floppy little ears, sweet as can be!

His googly little eyes and pink nose make my heart melt!

He made himself right at home in one of the Easter baskets that I have been working on!!

Happy Pink Saturday. I am so excited for Spring. (It's snowing here in Denver again, but I am still ready)....I found these fabulous birdies at The Feathered Nest. It looks like such a wonderful tutorial....I purchased it for only $5.00!! I thought these would be sweet for the Easter Basket Swap.....of coarse I will put my own Pink Glittery Spin on them.
I have never used Paper Clay, but am anxious to try it!! I will post pictures when I finish!

Easter Swap baskets.....

I am doing an Easter Swap with 3 close blogging friends. We haven't set a date, and don't really have any guidelines.....but I figured I'd get busy. I am going to make each girl a basket and then fill it with some hand made goodies! I started by painting my first basket a sweet soft pink. I added lots of crepe paper ruffles, and used this gorgeous vintage Italian green velvet ribbon to the handle and sides of the basket. I added this beautiful pink flower, and filled the basket with shredded book pages that I tea stained to looked aged. I still need to add some ribbons and vintage jewelry to it, but am loving the way it is looking.
I hope the girls like them.....I still need to paint 2 more baskets. I don't know if they will all be pink (it is my signature color) or if I will do a yellow and lavender one. Decisions, Decisions.

Easter is in the air! Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday....Easter is in the air!! I have been busy making fabulous little Easter baskets. Each basket is made from a vintage Jello mold!! They are filled with sweet little Easter goodies!!

Each basket has a vintage Easter image, and is filled with both vintage and new bits and bobs.

I used sweet vintage ribbon to finish them off. A light dusting of glitter brings them to life.

I must add that the inspiration for these sweet little cups was Diane of Saturday Finds. She did a wonderful tutorial on making Jello Molds into little Easter baskets. She is a fabulous talent, and I thank her for sharing her ideas! After a whole lot of encouraging words from my friends, I have decided that my Easter goodies are going to be listed in my Etsy shop. I should have them available this weekend. Thanks for the sweet words of encouragement. Thank you Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting another fabulous PInk Saturday. It's such a please to visit everyone, and have people stop by to say hello!!

Valentine Swap Goodies.....

My sweet friend Kristin....of Signs & Salvage and I did a Valentine Swap. I sent her a few of my crafts that I made, and she sent me some of her amazing signs that she makes. I have admired her signs for a very long time, and am so excited to own not 1, but 4 of them now!! I couldn't believe it when I opened the box and saw the goodies she had sent. The signs are even cuter in person than in pictures (if you can believe that)!!

Happy Birthday Tricia

My sweet friend Tricia celebrated her Birthday this weekend. My sister and I wanted to give her a gift card and a bottle of wine. I decided to decorate a paper mache wine holder that I found at Hobby Lobby. I LOVE how it turned out. I used a copy of Happy Birthday Vintage sheet music that I had, and embellished it like crazy. I glued a party hat to the top of the lid, I covered the hat in vintage wallpaper, crepe paper ruffles, and vintage paper flowers.

I think it turned out very sweet, and Tricia had a fabulous party. Have a wonderful week.

Gorgeous Ruffly Wreath

While my family watched the Super Bowl, I made another wreath.

Andrea of Velvet Strawberries made one like this last year, and I adored it. I asked her if I could copy her, and she said sure. We had both taken an online class, and it showed us how to make the tea dyed coffee filters. I changed mine up a little bit from hers, but it is the same basic idea.I think the colors are so beautiful. The soft shade of the coffee filters against the bold fuchsia lace is so lovely.
The arrow is so sweet, with the french paper on it. I love the whole thing.

Valentine crafting.

Last night I had a crafting party planned. I invited a group of friends....I cleaned and organized my craft room. I made goody bags for the girls, I made up some kits for everyone. Well, the weather had other ideas!! We ended up getting a foot of snow, and no-one was able to come over. Fortunately Jill (sons GF) was here, so we had our own little party. I made this cute Valentine wreath. I used coffee filters that I dyed with red food color. I saw this on another blog, they had a whole tutorial, but I can't remember where. If anyone knows, let me know so I can give them credit. Well, I am off to make a tea stained wreath now. I just realized my reflection is in the glass. haha

Little Lampshades

Last year I saw this adorable idea on Jenny of Everyday is a Holiday's blog.....I decided to give it a try, and I love how it turned out. I used nut cups as lampshades, and decorated them all with different bits and bobs that I had laying around the craft room. The bulbs are silicone dipped, and I found them at Candy Lights....they are the softest shades of blue, pink, lavender, yellow and green. I am thrilled with how it turned out!!

Valentine Sweets

I am still plugging away in my craft room, cleaning and organizing. I have so many wonderful ideas for Valentine projects spinning around in my head, so lets hope I can start this week!! In the meantime, I will show you some of the fabulous goodies I have purchased!! This little beauty is from the one and only Magpie Ethel!! I have wanted one of her famous spool dolls for a really long time, and finally broke down and purchased one!! I love her!!!

This sweet little planter was found on Ebay this summer. I picked it up for a steal....only $15.00. They usually sell for much more....so I was quite excited.
The next 3 goodies are purchases from last year from my friend Jen of J. Nichelle. I hadn't plan on buying so many of her goodies, but just couldn't pass any of them up. If you get the opportunity to buy something from her, DO IT....you will not be disappointed.

Jens attention to detail is incredible. The back looks almost as pretty as the front!!
I also won a sweet kit from Elizabeth at Creative Breathing.......I am hoping to make it this week!

Vintage Stocking Swap

I participated in the Vintage Stocking Swap.....hosted by Ceri at The Pretty Pink Studio. I was partnered with Deborah of Deb's Vintage Soul. I received the most wonderful stocking....filled with fabulous goodies.The stocking has the most beautiful lace on it that Deb tea stained. It is just what I wanted!!

She added this organza flower with a vintage pin and vintage brass name tag. LOVE IT!!
This fabulous jar with the adorable little birdie on top was filled with these fun plastic thingies!!

The icing on the cake is this wonderful ornament she made. The sweet little bird loves its new home with me. Thank you Deborah for sending me this special package.

Valentine Eye Candy & Pink Saturday

I am ready to pack Christmas away.....we are celebrating one more time tomorrow night. Dustin's Girlfriend Jenny was in Vermont for the Holidays, so we are celebrating with her, and then I am going to start packing away the goodies. I figure it will take me a week to get it down and stored. In the meantime, I am scouting the internet looking for beautiful Valentine's Day Inspiration. I am ready to put up hearts, and pink goodies. Look at some of the beautiful things I am hoping to make: I bought this kit last year, and got it halfway done, before I got sidetracked. It is so adorable, and from the super talented Jenny at Every Day is a Holiday. Can't wait to finish it!!
This gorgeous garland was made by the super talented Andrea at velvet strawberries. She has such a knack for making the most scrumptious eye candy!!
This fabulous wreath was also made by Andrea at Velvet Strawberries. Andrea took the Sweet Messengers of Christmas class, and changed it a bit for Valentine's. She gave me permission to copy this fabulous wreath!! I cannot wait to get started.
The fabulous and talented Holly made this amazing heart wall hanging. She taught this on the Paper Romance ezine last year. I subscribed to it, and am finally going to attempt to make it. I was asked by a friend of a friend to make favors for a baby shower. There was no theme....no plates or napkins to copy......she said just make something special. This is what I came up with.

I used white sheets of crepe paper, and lots of blue embellishments.I found these cute vintage stork cupcake picks, and added a rattle and safety pin. I filled each cracker with vintage "It's a boy" picks and blue and white candies. They turned out so cute. I was thrilled to get a custom order for such a fun occasion. I am hoping to catch up on sharing all my projects that I did while recovering from surgery. I also wanted to tell my friends who I promised a Christmas present, (Michele, Tammy, Lulu, Keren and Jennie) they are now being turned into Valentine's Day gifts, and I will send them along soon.

New Years, and My Birthday!!!

I cannot believe that another year is almost gone. Where does time go?? I am so thankful for all of the wonderful friends I have made through this blog. I appreciate each and every one of you. I read your comments, and it makes my heart happy. This has been a very difficult year for my family, our health has been an issue. I am hoping that next year will be a much easier one. Christmas Dinner

Happy Holidays Friends. I wanted to give you a quick update on my surgery, and share some pictures with you. I came through my surgery with flying colors...everything was fine. I ended up having my ovary removed, because the cyst was so large and had grown into the ovary. I am old, so one ovary is sufficient. I was told that I am still able to have a baby. HAHA...that made me laugh. The recovery has been harder than I anticipated....I thought I'd be up and around in a day or two, but that hasn't happened. I am hoping that tomorrow will be the day when I get up and get a few things done. I also had a small growth removed from my inner thigh.....It was causing me some pain, so they removed and biopsied it. I get the results in a few days, but the doctor thinks that and the cyst are both benign. Thank The Lord that my Family is so good to me. I get waited on like I'm the queen!! Please enjoy the pictures of my family taken a couple of days before my surgery. My sons GF Jenny is spending the Holidays in Vermont with her family, so we had a family dinner with her before she left!!

Christmas with Santa

We had lunch with Santa on Saturday, and I had to share these sweet photos with you. The Grandkids on Santa's lap.....the purple boots with the dress crack me up!!
My little sweeties!! LOVE them!!
After we had lunch, we headed back to Grandmas house to play. They wanted to spend the night, so we put a blow up mattress on the floor by the Christmas tree, and had a sleep over!! It was a wonderful day, and took my mind off my dreaded surgery!! Thank you all for the well wishes. ( I borrowed my sons camera, so I will post my matchboxes later today).

Surgery?? Are you kidding me??

Right now it seems like a broken camera is the least of my worries. It has been a horrible day today. My husband has been having shoulder pain, so the doctor has scheduled him for a shoulder manipulation. No surgery, but he does have to be put under. No big deal, I can take care of that. However, I also went to the Dr., as a follow up to my recent problems with my darned ovaries. They have been keeping track of a nasty little cyst that has been giving me a lot of pain. Today the ultra sound showed that it has grown from the size of a walnut to a plum in the last month. The doctor is afraid that it will rupture, or that it may be more than just a silly little cyst. So, I am now scheduled for surgery on Friday, December 18th. He said I will need to stay in bed for 4 days, and then no activities, or heavy lifting for 2 weeks. Are you kidding Me??? The week before Christmas?? I have spent the morning crying, and now I am putting on my big girl panties, and getting my shopping done. GAH!! What a downright horrible day!!!

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday. Hubby and I are in Beaver Creek for the weekend. We went to a fabulous fundraiser for CASA...(court appointed special advocates)....they have a silent auction every year to raise money. This year I won a fabulous gingerbread house. Every year I bid on one, and never seem to win. Well, this was my year. Here I am with the fabulous chef who made the house I won. (it was the first place house)....His name is Bernie Oswald, he is the chef at the Swiss Chalet in Vail. It is a wonderful fondue restaurant. He said this is the last year he is donating a house (he has won the past 7 years), because he is moving to Seattle. The house is beyond amazing. I will post more pictures when I get it home and can use my camera instead of my phone!! Be sure to stop by Beverlys at How Sweet the Sound. She is our wonderful hostess every week!!

This post was supposed to be for Saturday, but I got busy and didn't get it done. I rec'd this beautiful angel from my Great Grandmother. I was only 10 when she passed away at the wonderful age of 98!! I believe this was a Christmas ornament, but I keep it on my dining room mirror year round. She has the most beautiful "angel hair" wings, and gorgeous pink satin and velvet ribbon body. If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see her praying hands. This week is starting out bad for us. Saturday we discovered we had a gas leak in our Guest House....Excel Energy came out, and said it was testing off the meter for gas, so they had to turn the power off. We didn't want our pipes to freeze, so we had to have a plumber come out and winterize the house, by blowing out all the water pipes. The Heating company is coming today to start digging up the backyard.....but we woke up with no heat in our main house....so we called the Heating company back again, and they are sending someone out at some point today to fix the furnace. (of coarse the people who are fixing the gas leak can't fix the furnace)!! I have a feeling the trip we were planning to New York for a little getaway to see the lights is going to be cancelled. UGH! On a happier note we have a winner for my giveaway, and it is lucky number 17! Tammy, you have won. Tammy at Tinsel & Company is such a sweet friend, and I couldn't be happier to wrap up these goodies and send them on their way to her. I hope everyone has a wonderful week. A couple of years ago, I was in Vivian's Halloween Shadow Box swap. I never posted photos of the box I made, and decided to share them with you now. I did mine as a Marie Antoinette Masquerade Ball theme:I hung a crystal mini chandelier from the ceiling, she had lovely velvet drapes, glittered pumpkins, and a picture of herself (of coarse)!!

I used gorgeous vintage wallpaper to cover this beauty. The edge is vintage crepe paper, and the center has this gorgeous glittered star. I can't decide what else to put on it...it needs something....what do you think?

I have been a very bad blogger.....As you can see from the chaos in my craft room, I have been a very busy girl. I am getting ready for a big craft fair in November.....I am also having a big open house at my home, and will be selling crafts, along with other wonderful vendors. Ugh....so much to do.

Happy Deck the Halls Friday.....I decided to share some photos of my glittery houses that I display at Christmas. This fabulous set of pink ones are displayed on our piano in the living room. I LOVE the sugary sweetness of the pink!! It's just like cotton candy. MmmmmThe buffet in my dining room hosts my cream and silver houses. I made these several years ago and just love them. If you click on the picture you can see the sweet angel that hangs on the mirror. I was given this after my Great Grandmother passed away. She has beautiful Angel Hair for her actual hair....it is so sweet. She hangs up all year. I can't bear to take her down.

Kitchy Easter Goodies

I went to a sale at the local grange. There were 2 tractor trailers loaded with junk....they opened the doors, and basically threw everything on tables. There was no rhyme or reason to where they put things. I was left to dig, and I do mean dig through the junk. I found a box filled with Easter goodies that looked promising. I forked over 5 bucks, and this is what I got:

These Easter planters are all marked Lefton and Napco!

This planter is the cutest thing ever!! The mama Chick has her babies on chain leashes. It was still wrapped in the paper it was shipped in. I think the person that donated the box was a florist, because there were bunches of floral picks in it.

These 3 bunnies are adorable....they are all marked Japan on their wee little bottoms!

There were a few old Easter cards....love these two cuties!

There were four of these cuties....sitting in their little eggs with velvet forget- me- nots around their necks.

Okay, these are honestly kind of creepy....all marked Japan...and ready to kill you in your sleep. haha

A bunch of cute Mother's Day picks....love the plastic cameo pick, and the sweet bouquet of flowers with the velvet heart that says Mother.

Fresno State?

I found this picture on my computer, and it made me laugh, so I had to share it with everyone. 2 years ago my sons went to the New Mexico Bowl to see their beloved Colorado State Rams play Fresno State. They made this sign, and ESPN showed them with it several times. I guess they are right, Fresno isn't a State! hahaDustin is holding the sign, so you can only see his hat, and Brad is on the right. The Rammies won, and they had a blast!!

She found these adorable snowman boots, and wanted to fancy up the presentation!! She painted a box to look like a fireplace, and added a sweet little mantle, complete with mini stockings filled to the brim with goodies and a snowy scene on top.She hung the boots to look like Santa was coming down the chimney. The detail she put into this was amazing!!

Deck the halls Friday

I am so excited, I'm about to burst. Yesterday I found this beauty at an estate sale. It was $5!! My parents had one just like it when I was little. I have pictures of my sisters and myself sitting in front of it at Christmas. I have been looking for one to buy for several years, and finally found one.

Yes, the fire is very life like. haha It has an orange light and silver reflector paper to make the fire look so realistic. The box says " With Yule Logs that glow and reflect like a real fire".... oh, if only you could see it in person. The cardboard logs just make you want to grab a book and a cup of cocoa, and relax.

I thought the box was too stinkin' cute ....so I had to show it to you!!

Okay, The directions were easy to follow, and they are printed on the back of the box, so I won't have to worry about losing them, and then not being able to set this up at Christmas.

Fabulous Hand Painted Wallpaper

I went to the Paris Street Market this past Saturday, and my sweet friend Shanon had this amazing wallpaper. She had purchased it at an Estate Sale...she said that the shed was filled to the rafters with roll after roll of paper. However, before she could grab too much, a man walked in and said that he was from a Museum, and that he wanted to purchase the entire lot. I guess she was lucky to get what she got. I'm even luckier, because she sold it all to me. Look at how amazing some of it is. It all appears to be hand painted...with the exception of one roll. I checked the name that was written on the sides of the paper, and it is from a company that was founded in 1892. Most of it is borders....This might be my favorite....the top is white, and fades into a gorgeous pink, and then red!!

This one is probably from the 40's....but it's cute as a button.

So, now I have to figure out what to do with it. I need to make something that is over the top, and will showcase the beauty of these. Any ideas???

Lovely Pink Cabinet, and a surprise inside

The other day I went to an estate sale.....mostly scary dolls the homeowner had made, and a whole lot of junk.....however, the neighbor was having a garage sale. She was the sweetest old lady...we chatted about sewing and crafts, and I bought this wonderful cabinet for $15. It wasn't so wonderful when I bought it. The lady said she used it in her sewing room, and she had finished it herself. It was covered with wrapping paper. The paper didn't match, because she ran out part way through, and just used a different kind. It was glued on....quite well. I had to use a razor blade to scrape it off bit by bit. Well, after a whole lot of hard work, I ended up with this:
I decided to put it in my pink room, so I painted it, what else, Pink. The handles got a coat of silver paint, and the edges of the drawers are black. I love the finished product..... (I just noticed I need to cover my outlet with fabric..oops)...
now, here is the funny part of the story. When I got the cabinet home, the drawers had liner paper in them, It wasn't glued down, fortunately. However, when I pulled one of the liners out, there was a picture hidden in the drawer. It was a picture of a very old man, standing on a mountain, with a his arms outstretched and he was holding a flower. However, he wasn't wearing any clothes....just a grin on his face. I laughed until I thought I would cry. Do you suppose the sweet old lady that sold this to me was hiding a picture of her husband?, or a picture from her husband?? Whatever the case, she made me laugh!!!

My Sweet Friend Holly

My sweet friend Holly, you all know her...the incredibly talented Holly Abston!! Well, she painted (with watercolors) the most amazing picture, and when I saw what she had made, I just knew I had to buy it for my son's girlfriend, Jill! The package arrived from Holly...and every detail was just perfect....from the envelope she mailed it in, to the sweet little note she sent with!!

This is the fabulous picture that I bought for Jill. She wants to own her own Bridal planning business someday, and I just knew that this picture would be amazing in her shop!!

Christmas In July Swap

I participated in the Christmas in July swap hosted by the fabulous Michele of Ask Michele Something Special. I was paired with the amazing Jen of J. Nichelle...... well, to say that she spoiled me was an understatement. We were supposed to send a homemade ornament, a store bought ornament, a decoration and a kit to make a Christmas goody. I made a picture frame today for my son's girlfriends Mom. She turned 50 this year, so I wanted to do something special for her. I used this gorgeous paper, lots of vintage flowers, and a glittery butterfly!!

I also got tests back from the Dr. I have a cyst on my ovary (yuck), so we are going to monitor it, and if it gets worse, I'll have it taken care of. I am feeling so much better. Under the Weather

Hi Everyone.....I have been under the weather the last few days, and am stuck in bed. I woke up Friday with the worst pain I have ever experienced. It was the lower left groin area. I ended up at the Dr.s office (I couldn't drive myself, so my son took off work to drive me), they are pretty sure that I have a cyst on my ovary, but they need to clear up the danged infection before they can begin to take care of the actual problem. I spent the weekend on pain pills and antibiotics. I went back to the Dr. yesterday, and the stupid infection is still raging, so they put me on a higher dose of antibiotics, and I am going back on Thursday. Hopefully I can get this cleared up and back to normal. The pain has just been so constant, that I am taking percocet.

I just wanted to show you a sneak peak at what I've been up to(before the infection)!! I was in the Christmas in July swap with the talented Jen Of J. Nichelle. Boy, talk about pressure. Jen is so talented, and she makes the most unbelievable Vintage inspired pieces. I definitely felt the pressure of this one. So, here is a sneak peak at what I made for her.Can you guess what it is?? All glittery and whimsical?? Well, as soon as she receives her package, I will post more pictures.

We went to Nebraska this weekend to celebrate my Fabulous Grandmas Birthday!!

I cannot believe that she is 90!! She is so amazing!!

What a sweet gift I received!!

Is this the most gorgeous fabric you have seen?? Love the brown with the pink....well, guess what it is??An incredible tote bag!!! I opened the mail a few days ago, and guess what?? This incredible bag was for little old me!! The absolutely wonderful Diane of Saturday Finds sent this to me. For no reason at all. Just because she is the most incredibly sweet person you could meet. Oh wait, I have never met her....that's what makes this even more wonderful.
Thank you so much Diane for the sweet gift. I LOVE IT!!

A Wedding Surprise

My sons GF, Jill is in a Wedding in December. Her best friend is getting married!! Jill is flying to Florida this weekend for the engagement party, and she wanted to make something special for her friend. She decided a framed collage would be fun to make. I LOVE the finished project. The background is a beautiful vintage wallpaper that is just gorgeous. The wedding colors are blue and white....so it is just perfect.

Jill made a template of a wedding dress out of cardboard, and then layered on the most gorgeous ruffly satin and vintage lace. I love how she made the bodice out of lace, and the pearl necklace is fabulous!! Sweet velvet flowers add to the beauty on the dress.

She added fun vintage bells to the top of the frame!! Love it!!

This sweet little blue bird is holding onto the banner with the bride and grooms names on it!
Congratulations Jordan and Erinn......I hope this brings you as much joy as it did me while watching Jill make it.

Happy Pink Saturday

I have been searching for a vintage Prom Dress for a very long time. I admit that I am a copycat. I have seen dresses on Jen's blog, and Holly's blog, and I just had to have one. I found the white one at the Paris Flea Market this past weekend. When she told me she wanted $35 for it, I knew it had to be mine.

The bodice is gorgeous....all ruffles and frills!!

I have been coveting the pink one for several months, and when I went back this week, the vendor was there, and made me a deal that I just could not pass up. I had to lay it on the pink bedspread, just to show you how gorgeous it is. (sorry about my foot in the picture, I didn't notice it until I posted the picture..haha)

The bodice on this is also amazing.

This dress has 3 layers, the first is satin, then a layer of ruffles, and on top a layer of

alternating lace squares and tulle.

This week I hope that you will stop by and see Grace in the Pink in the City. Just the name of this sweet blog made me smile, and I know you will too after seeing her beautiful blog.

A Sweet Clock

I found these pictures today when I was going through my old image card on my camera. I decided that I had to share them. My baby boy, Brad wanted to make something for his Girlfriend Jill. He decided to make (decorate) a clock for her. I didn't even take over, I let him do his thing. (I admit, it was hard not to grab the scissors and glue, and do it myself)!!

I think it turned out quite fabulously!!

Paris Swap

I just wanted to share the beautiful boxes that I received in the Petite Paris Matchbox Swap. The first box is from Jessica at Kids Napping, I'm scrapping. The color palette is so beautiful. The attention to detail on this box is amazing. The box was filled with wonderful goodies....including these beautiful stamped tags.
There was ribbon, buttons, papers, trims, so many amazingly wonderful items.
The charms and buttons are all fantastic....
I still cannot believe all of the fabulous goodies that were in such a tiny box!! Thank you Jessica for putting so much work into such a fabulous box!!! I love it!

These are the boxes that the amazing Erica of Zunky Chic made for us. Mine is the one on the left. The box is even more beautiful in person, if you can imagine that!! The charm that Erica made and put on the box is so fabulous!!
It was filled with the most amazing goodies. A vintage Hankie, a ballerina, buttons, a flower, a wonderful Eiffel Tower, a card.....and so much more.
Erica's attention to detail is so fabulous....from the stamped Eiffel tower on the doily to the beautiful color palette.
The sweet little charm is going to be added to a bracelet that someday I hope to make.
Thank you ladies for your beautiful, sweet thoughtful boxes. They came at a time when I needed something to make me smile, and you sure did it!!

Petite Paris Box Swap

I participated in the Petite Paris Box Swap, and wanted to show you what I sent my partners.I made the Eiffel Tower and covered it with Vintage Glass Glitter.....I put it on top of a box that was covered with floral paper, that I added glitter accents to. I put a glass knob on the end for easy opening, and put vintage crepe paper on the bottom of the box.
I filled it with some fun hand stamped ribbon, lace, a crown picture frame, some note cards, Paris scrabble tiles and a vintage flower.
I also included some sweet cookies that were from our local French Bakery. I hope that they enjoy the goodies. I will post the amazing boxes I rec'd tomorrow.

Something Old, Something New

What a wonderful swap I was in this month. The Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue swap.....hosted by Linda at a Swap for all Seasons.My partner was the super talented Kelley of Teacup Mosaics. (I didn't get pictures of the beautiful box all packed with rose petals, and beautiful shred. I was just too excited to open everything(!!

The sweetest tote bag with my blog logo on it. Is this adorable, or what?? I took it on vacation, and used it to tote my book to the beach. I LOVE it!!
We were supposed to include a vintage wedding photo. If you look closely, you will see that I am the Bride, My hubby is the groom, and other family members are in the wedding party. What wonders photo shop will do!! Kelley was afraid I would think it was creepy, but I loved it!! I put it on our piano with all of my other family photos, and am waiting for someone to notice!!
Something New?? This adorable little heart shaped box. I collect little boxes, and this is the perfect addition to add!!
Something Old, Something Blue?? Look at these amazing tea cups and saucers. They are beyond beautiful. The beautiful images on the china is fabulous. They will be displayed in my living room. Love Them!!
Kelley even painted the box that she sent them in gold!!! Wow, she didn't miss a single detail. She also sent a wonderful decorating book that she "borrowed" from her mom. I have it next to my bed, and am scouring it for ideas!!

We are ending our trip in San Diego. Maison would love to spend every waking moment on the beach collecting shells. This is my kind of day.

Unfortunately someone dumped water on my Kindle at the hotel in Disneyland (little hands move too quickly for Grandma)....and now it isn't working! I didn't bring any actual books, because I had loaded all of the new ones I wanted to read onto the Kindle. I guess I will just sit and stare at the ocean....sounds nice, huh?

Bailee Kay Graduates

My Niece Bailee graduated from High School yesterday. It was the perfect day to have the ceremony. It was held at Red Rocks Amphitheater....and was truly amazing.

We had a small party at my house for the family. She is having a huge party for family and friends in June, but I couldn't let the day pass without doing a little celebrating. I did lunch, and made a few goodies to put on the table.

I had to make her a graduation Crown!!

We are Home!

We are home from the Hospital. Nick is resting, and taking it easy,, and I am getting caught up with all of the chores I let go. He ended up having 3 stints put in, for blockages. The Dr. said he is as good as new. I am so relieved. Thank you all for your prayers, and kind words..they certainly helped me more than you will ever know. Now, I need to go out and buy a healthy eating cookbook. You see, I don't cook. I used to cook, when my kids were young, but now we pretty much eat out every evening. Well, no more of that!! I am thinking that this will be a lifestyle change for both of us!! If you have any good recipes, I would love it if you would share.

I need a few prayers!!

Hi Friends....I have a huge favor to ask of all of you. I need some prayers.Yesterday my husband woke up with terrible "indigestion".....he took pepcid, and went back to bed. He went to work, had lunch, and then we worked out with our Trainer. When he got home from work the pain got worse, and he took more antacids. When he starting complaining that his arms and neck were sore, my son Brad demanded that he call the Dr. He didn't want to, but we made him. We ended up going straight from the Dr.s office to the ER. It turns out his indigestion was actually a heart attack. He is now in the Coronary Care Unit, awaiting an angioplasty. As soon as he has that we will know the extent of the damage, and the course of action that needs to be taken. (my sons brought the computer to the hospital, they knew that looking at all the wonderful blogs you all have would take my mind off of things.)....So, I am sneaking a minute away from Nick to ask for your prayers. I love you all, and appreciate any kind thoughts you send our way.

I hit the Jackpot!!

I was at an estate sale on Saturday. Everything was pretty picked over....I managed to find a few things that I couldn't live without. I was talking to the girls, and said my dream would be to walk into a sale, and find a room full of vintage wallpaper. A few minutes later a man walked up to me, and said he overheard me say that I love old wallpaper, he said that he had 5 or 6 rolls that he got at a sale a few years back, and that he would like them to go to a good home. hahaI went by his house on Sunday, and about died when I saw the fabulous paper.
This pink is the softest shade, and the flowers are so sweet. Love it. There was a whole roll of this.
This one is really brittle, but still will work....love the red flowers. Again, another full roll.
There was only about 4 yards left of this striped one, but it's pink, and I love it also.
Soft beige with lattice and flowers, swoon. Yes, a brand new never opened roll.
This one almost looks flocked, but it is just a soft beige tone on tone. The roll had never been opened.
This one is sagey green.....it's hard to see in the pictures. It is lovely!!

He said he was afraid it would end up in a landfill somewhere, and sold it to me for gasp....$30.

I can't wait to start crafting with it.

I am so excited!! I won the most fabulous giveaway!!! The lovely Stefanie of Rose Petals and Rust picked my name!! I rec'd the package on Friday, and could not wait to tear into it. Of coarse my camera wasn't charged, so I am using her photo!!It was this beautiful wicker purse with lace, and a beautiful flower on it. Inside were the most fabulous presents....a pink shaker bottle, amazing tags, a vase with beautiful flowers, faux bon bons (so stinkin' cute)...and a beautiful plate. Oh, and I cannot forget the amazing pillow cases. I will post more pictures when my camera is working!! I still can't believe I won. Thank you so much Stefanie. You made my day, make that my week!!

Happy Birthday Dustin

Today is my oldest sons Birthday. Happy Birthday Dustin. I cannot believe that you are 26. I was so young when you were born. I had just turned 20. I realize now that I was also a baby. All I ever wanted was to be a Mom. It is the best "job" that I have ever had. This is my Dad with Dustin right after he was born.

Dustin....I love your rubber band wrist. (you know, when their wrists are so chubby it looks like they have a rubber band on it.)...
