I decided to put it in my pink room, so I painted it, what else, Pink. The handles got a coat of silver paint, and the edges of the drawers are black. I love the finished product..... (I just noticed I need to cover my outlet with fabric..oops)...
now, here is the funny part of the story. When I got the cabinet home, the drawers had liner paper in them, It wasn't glued down, fortunately. However, when I pulled one of the liners out, there was a picture hidden in the drawer. It was a picture of a very old man, standing on a mountain, with a his arms outstretched and he was holding a flower. However, he wasn't wearing any clothes....just a grin on his face. I laughed until I thought I would cry. Do you suppose the sweet old lady that sold this to me was hiding a picture of her husband?, or a picture from her husband?? Whatever the case, she made me laugh!!!
Have a wonderful day.

Gorgeous re-do...hysterical story!
Oh my!! :0 I can't think of a more quirky, fun thing to happen to a person. Aren't you lucky!
One time, after buying a purse at a yard sale, I stuck my hand in a pocket and found $100. Definitely MORE than what I paid for the purse. Of course I had to drive all the way back to the sale and return the money. Now when I have my own yard sale I make sure and check every pocket.

That is too funny! I wonder if she'll miss that pic.? Love the little furniture piece though. And that room is just too cute. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.
The dresser came a with a bit of history, can't you post the picture and block out the private parts LOL I am dying to see... oxox, Diane
What a lovely find and you have done wonders with it. That story is just too funny
Ha-ha-ha! valarie, you should return the photo and watch her face! Ha-ha! No, I'd never do that but it's funny to think about!
You did a wonderful job on the dresser! I love its littleness.

OMG...LOL, I just about spit out my drink all over my screen when I read that....I honestly thought you were going to say you pulled back the paper and there was some money!!

What a great story! I'm sure she forgot all about it. It makes you think about pictures one might have laying about that they don't want others to find;) It made me laugh as well.

what a bargain! I probably wouldn't have had the patience to get all that paper off! Good for you! The best part is the naked picture! Fantastic re-do! Love it! Suzie
I love the chest. I think that I heard that in some old desks, they use to make secret compartments. Some are worth checking out. There might be more that pictures of old men.
