Valentine Box Swap

At Valentines I participated in a Heart shaped box swap. I got a partner in England. Tracey was so sweet, and the box is just lovely. It turned out that the post office under estimated how long it takes to ship a box . They told me 5-10 days, and it took a month. UGH.....However, the wait was well worth it, as you are about to see.

I received the most beautiful box....it truly took my breath away. She captured "me" perfectly.
The box was painted, and then lightly stamped with the most beautiful swirls...and the butterflies are just amazing.
Even the inside was finished.....so Beautiful!!

Chaos!!!

So, here is something that you do not know about me. I like for my house to be clean before I can go to bed. I will clean the kitchen, fluff the pillows on the couch, and do whatever needs to be done, so that I will sleep peacefully. I hate nothing more than to start the day with a mess...it sets the tone for the whole day.....with that being said, I thought you should see my craft room!

I drug out my Easter stuff a day or two ago, and set about making a few projects. Yikes...this sucker is not going to be clean before bedtime. I guess I will just close the door, and face it tomorrow. ( I dare you to click on the picture to enlarge it)!!
I am working on an egg shaped garland made of vintage wallpaper. I will post a picture when it is done.

Vintage Soda Fountain

So, my crazy husband is always doing some type of project at our house. Our basement is decorated in kind of a 50's vibe...we have a juke box, black and white checked floors, an old Pepsi bar with vintage stools, and lots of other goodies....so my hubby found this fabulous vintage soda fountain, and he had to have it. We had it delivered today, and I love it!! We need to have a few things done to it (hooking up the soda water, and getting the freezer up to par)...and then we will be able to host wonderful ice cream socials. hahaAs soon as we have it up and running, I will post some more pictures. I cannot wait to have you all over for a root beer float!!

Easter Basket Swap

Happy Birthday Raelynn

Happy Pink Saturday....I didn't have a chance to load pictures of the pink project I am working on. I apologize, I am having some issues from the surgery I had 3 weeks ago. I hope to be feeling better soon. In the meantime, please enjoy my most recent post:

Today is my Granddaughter Raelynn's 4th Birthday. I really wanted to make something special for her. I found an old jewelry box at the thrift store, and decided it was the perfect candidate for a makeover. I covered it with vintage wallpaper, trimmed it with vintage trim, and put a velvet flower on top. I added a pink and cream crepe paper ruffle to the bottom of the box.

I love the ballerina that twirls when the box is opened.

The inside was beat up and dirty, so I took it apart, and recovered it in pink satin.

(I even added a few blingy jewelry pieces)

It was such a fun project to make for this sweet little angel......I'm gonna be sad to see it go!!

Tiffany Key

I was so excited to open my Valentine's Day present on Sunday.....it was one of these fabulous Tiffany Keys. It is white gold...and lovely. I couldn't find a picture of the one I got without all of these other beauties. Mine is white gold...similar to the yellow gold one on the right. I love it.
Well, I am off to clean my craft room and pack away Valentine's Day stuff. Can you believe how quickly time is going??

Valaentine's Day weekend

After a very stressful week of Dr. Appointments, we decided that a getaway was in order. We packed up the kids, and headed to the Mountains!! Dinner out.....no dishes to clean up!!It is snowing lightly, and we have a fire in the fireplace. Life is peaceful right now!!
Dustin (my oldest son) and his sweet girlfriend Jenny!! They keep me laughing!!
Brad....(he decorated his crutches in his favorite Florida Gators color-orange) and his girlfriend Jill.
I am so happy that all of us are together for a long restful weekend. Life will be stressful again when Brad has his surgery, so we are just enjoying ourselves for now.

Knee Update....

Today my son and I saw an orthopedic specialist. He is definitely going to need major surgery. He is going to have the bone cut where it attaches to his patella tendon have it reattached to hold the knee cap in place, and possibly a tendon from his leg attached where the ligament is damaged. He has some cartilage missing, and they may have to do a graft to stimulate new growth. They honestly won't know everything until they get into his knee and check it out. He was supposed to start EMT school on Tuesday...he wants to be a fireman.....but the Dr. said his recovery will be a 6-12 month rehab. So, we are cancelling school, and focusing on the surgery and recovery. He is really bummed, but excited to possibly have a new strong knee. Say a prayer for him if you would!!!

Valentine's Day Swap

I am in a Valentine box swap.....so, I wanted to show a few pictures of the box I made. I used a Vintage image that I bought from Kris Hurst.....it is lovely.....sorry the lighting is so bad. If you click on the picture the image is easier to see.

The box is covered with a beautiful vintage flocked wallpaper that I bought from Holly.

I dyed the silk ribbon with pomegranate green tea....it is a beautiful soft shade of pink!

I used lots of dresdens to foof it up!!

I wrapped it in pink crepe paper that I twisted to look like a rose......Inside are lots of goodies, I will show pictures of them later.
