Pink Saturday & Childhood Memories

Happy Pink Saturday.....I wanted to share pictures of my spare bedroom.....and the beautiful wreath that I hung over the bed. It has the most beautiful vintage ornaments on it. I hope you enjoy.

Today Beverly asked us to share a childhood Holiday memory with everyone. The first one that came to mind would have to be when I was around 7 years old. My Dad worked the night shift, so our family was heading to Nebraska to be with our Family on the 23rd when he got off work. There ended up being a horrible snow storm, and we got snowed in at home. My Mom hadn't grocery shopped since we were going to be gone, so there wasn't much food in the house. She had a pound of frozen hamburger and a jar of spaghetti sauce.....so we made meatballs and put them in the crock pot with the sauce. We all sat around the table and ate them with toothpicks. My sisters and I thought it was so much fun, that we still ask my Mom to make her famous meatballs every Christmas Eve to celebrate!!! I guess that's how traditions get started. I hope everyone enjoys the Holiday Season.
Have a lovely day.

Oh the resiliency of kids! Only a child would be satisfied and find something like that fun and your Mom was the one feeling bad. Funny story! Happy Pink Saturday, Mollye

That is a nice memory, how sweet that you girls thought it was fun, while your mom must have been worrying about how to feed you... and now it is a tradition. I love it! Pink Blessings!

It is how traditions get started and carry on for generations, the stories get bigger and better with age. I love that story and would happily eat meatballs and spagetti any day. Your wreath would be bring sweet dreams to anyone sleeping under it, Happy Pink Saturday, Char
